I just saw the subbed trailer on YouTube, I've only played the first Phoenix Wright game and none of the Layton ones, Phoenix Wright wasn't really my genre or kinda game, should I still try out Layton?

They're lovely games - you travel around solving puzzles and mind teasers to progress the story, which is always some mystery that needs unravelling. Everything's very charming and well thought out. If you like puzzles or just want something to pass the time on the train they're worth checking out.
