Aside from the funny parts the characters do mature more as the series progresses. Also some parts turn pretty sad and tragic as in the interns are running to a patient whos life signs dropped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrubs_(TV_series) And yes, it's on the Comedy Channel.
