hee dee har,, I heard about this ages ago.. but its supposed to be in pre production... gooo Hasselhoff. the series was cheesey, but that was its appeal aside from the thinking talking car.. now we can expect to see some revamped version of the trans am Kitt, featuring david hasselhoff in a guest appearance.

Didn't they already do a movie called Knight Rider 2000?
 
I read an interview with The Hoff and, despite his Spongebob cameo, German pop career and, well, everything about him, he takes himself remarkably seriously.
Apparently they wanted to do a slightly hammy camp-but-in-an-ironic-way film version (like Starsky and Hutch), but he was dead against it.
 
hehe, yeh, but i dont care , it has its decent amount of interesting elements, you know its going to be one to watch whatever the outcome, providing its brought upto date nicely.. I think the one man fight against corrupt corporation's in your very own super car is quite appealing.... it could be quite the diamond in the rough.
 
Could be quite good since the concept was something I always liked. Chances are though it will be a miserable failure that will force people into shunning the original series (more so than before).

I thought Nightrider 2000 was the movie? That came out ages ago, where there was a new Kit and the old Kit was put into like an electric blue 1920's car. It was crap if I recall right.
