i was just wondering if anyone knows of a program that allows downloads to be paused on windows, and restarted at a later date? i dont have one but i download big files regularly, and i cant find any one that doesnt look cheap or suspicios.

thx

I use download accelerator plus, there is a free verision of that and it isnt too bad

DAP is full of spyware and is very unprofessional IMO.

Try Firefox, It's a browser but it's ok, it's even better (somehow) than IE, ironically I am recommending it but I don't use it as my main browser.

You can also try Meta Products Download Express, it's one of the very few ones I liked.

GetRight for me. Used it for years with no complaints.

cheers, im gonna try some of these programs now- in between revising for my GCSE for PE which is tommorow
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
im ****ed.

Leechget all the way!

Somehow, it always finds a fast mirror, even on sites where I get 15 KB/s with the standard download thingy of IE I get at least 175 with Leechget most of the time.

DAP sucks, it can pause downloads, but that's pretty much all it does.

Yup, LeechGet is very good. It does multiple connections, download pausing/resuming, mirror searching... well pretty much everything.

getright is by far the best but to get those most out of it you have to pay for all of its features..
