So, Turtle Rock have been eaten by Valve at long last (don't tell me you didn't expect it... :naughty:) - Do you think valve will influence the game in any way?

From looking at Portal, it appears to have been influenced by Valve in a lot of ways, it has the humour and the rewarding moments in the game that I think are lacking from other games (in general).

I think we all know Valve will add this (If it's not already present) to the game, but do you think they'll want to change or influence any other part/s of the game?

The zombies will be headcrabbed zombies, it will be tied in loosely to the HL2 storyline (Seven Hour War), and will be released in a "Fuscia Box" deal along with Episode 3 and Cube an amazing new prequal game featuring the companion-cubes adventures.

(Sarcasm FTL)

I thought Valve were working with Turtle Rock on the game anyway?

I'm expecting del...oh right, sorry!

I think the delay will be something to do with Valve wanting to add something to the game, or perhaps even delaying so they can release it as another Box compilation with some other titles.

They were already basically Valve's subsidiary office anyway. This "buying out" doesn't really change anything.

I don't agree with that at all - The way Turtle Rock have been flaunting L4D every chance they get is very un-valve-like, I think this potential delay is something to do with valve wanting to change stuff (for the better, one hopes ), as said above! :)

I think that there was always a good chance of it being delayed - at least I was worried that it would be.

It's hard to say if anything will change due to Valve's takeover, they were already working together a bit. I suspect that the benefits will be the extra resources and know how with the Source Engine (perhaps some new Source updates to be integrated in).

I expect they will be polishing it like a Telescope mirror

No. I'm glad some of you keep up to date about games. Valve has been working in cooperation with TRS on this game from the beginning.

They will remove anything cool you have seen so far, and dumb down the difficulty till it's noob friendly.
That seems to be the trend with Valve games lately

The L4D team will stay intact though. Look at Portal, even though the team was bought by Valve they stayed intact, just with some additional help.

Valve polish is so corrosive it causes divide by zero errors. And that doesn't even make sense.

I trust Valve will make sure the game is of the highest quality possible to them when it ships. In a few years time when they deem it a cure for cancer.

Agreed, but the game itself was playable and very enjoyable (according to all the reviews) so why the sudden delay?

I suspect Valve will have their hands in there probably tweaking the graphics, adding some new effects and polishing it up real pretty.

I'm really not sure what would cause a 6 month+ delay. My best guess is that since we have only seen one map in action and only screens of a second map that the map design and AI Director interaction has some problems/polishing.

The only thing I fear is that Valve will ask them to make the game easier. At the moment even the devs only beat it one in the four times.
