I'm not sure if all this is related or not, but those three programs seem to be lagging a ton.

OpFor will not start a new game. It goes into the menu and takes ten seconds to respond to anything such as running the mouse over an icon, clicking something, etc.

Maya Personal Learning Edition is slow as well. Even with nothing made, spinning the camera, simply making a box and scaling, rotaiting, and moving the box has about a 2 second lag time. Flat and smooth shading are insanly slow. About 30 seconds before a response.

I recently downloaded GMax, a program very similar to 3ds Max that is designed for making models used in games and such, and it is slow as well. It takes about 3 seconds before anything happens when I try to make something as simple as a box.

Here are my computer specs:
(attached is a dxdiag .txt)

Please help me. I can't progress in my mod until I get this sorted out and back to working on making a rifle.

Okay, I fixed my problem. I'm going to sound like an idiot for this, but here goes. For some reason, when I shut down my computer, my computer installed some drivers or something, I'm not quite sure. I thought that the reason it was so slow was that I had 4 RAM sticks, which made the CPU have to talk to twice as many sticks. So I took two out. When I booted up the machine, ATi had some newer drivers for me. I tinkered with the settings it showed me, and I noticed my card was set on Direct3D. All my programs I had been running were set to OpenGL. So I switched my card over, stuck my RAM back in and it works great.

If anyone else has this type of problem, make sure your card and programs are set to the same 3D renderes. It'll save some headaches.
