Lag spike problem in online Source games

Lately I've noticed a big problem whenever playing Source games online on Steam. For some reason, I get frequent lag spikes even though my ping is perfectly okay (before, after and even throughout the spike) and I have no problem otherwise, it just gets extremely laggy and I freeze net-wise, and afterwards I get my weapons again as if I picked them up. It gets me killed alot. I've got a decent bandwidth and don't have any problems with any other game online.

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?

Go to control panel, administrative tools, services, wireless zero config, and click stop then apply. I had the exact same problem..

Well it could be numerous problems. It may be related to bad RAM or the lack of it. Using 1GB of RAM increases the games smoothness and effeciency. and if you already have alot of RAM it may be proccessor lag. This is common for lower end proccesseors running on the source engine. Posting your system specifications would help.
