Hey all! Can somebody help me hunt down a game similar to what I'm looking for..?

I'm looking for a good racing game (for pc), and for some reason I don't want it to be the frantic type... I'm looking for a game where I can just try to push myself on a highway, waving in and out of traffic in the sunrise, preferrably on a motorcycle... It would be awesome if the tracks weren't courses but more like a strip of road along the coast. I remember a need for speed game a few years back that was quite a bit like this, but I can't remember the name (maybe Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed?).

I don't even feel the need for competitors, I just want to drive real fast in a good looking environment, a sort of a laid back vibe is what I'm looking for! And it would be awesome if I could do it on a motorcycle instead of a boring car...

Does anyone know of any games even remotely similar to what I'm looking for?

Diddy kong racing for n64 :) seriously great fun, Mario Kart for gc/n64/snes whatever :)

Flat-out!
Any of the Nascar games, or Trackmania.

Mercedes World Racing. I played the demo just to admire the scenery, and you can go of track to explore the surrounding world

Gran Tourismo is great to tool around in on time trial. Some courses are amazingly beautiful too.

Not exactly a racing game (although it has some racing elements)

GTA:san andreas fits your description almost perfectly.

I think there was a Need For Speed (Hot pursuit?) Game like that.

But yeah I would like a game like that too. Not san Andreas though :)

Porche Unleashed had a few really nice out-in-the-woods-y tracks. And it looked good. But racing games are usually frantic by nature, you know?

big red racing.

Oh man...I thought I was the only person on the planet that played that game.

Best PC racing game ever.

EDIT: D/ling that game again right now. God bless the Underdogs.

i agree gta san andreas or you could switch it up with vice city also

Suprised GTA: SA isn't unanamous here, what you descirbed is exactly what i liked to do in it whilst listening to my music library :)..

Thanks for all the suggestions, much appreciated!

I'll definitely check out Mercedes Benz: World Racing (is it out yet ??) and I might take GTA for a spin again... I did actually enjoy the motorcycle racing in it! :D
It's just that GTA looks so plain... :O
