Would any other forum members be up for a lan party? We could go to an orginized event or have our own somewhere.. Anyone interested? Obviosly funding would be an issue but with enough interest im sure it wont be a problem..

One thing I never enjoyed are LAN parties after broadband became large. I mean, it IS a way to get together, but I'd rather get together with a bunch of people to socialize...not do the same thing I do whenever I'm at home. Go get some dinner, grab some drinks or even, hell, rent a large room in a building for a night and just **** around.

Then again, I guess I AM on a gaming forum.

I have gone to many LAN parties, don't get me wrong. I just find doing other things than gaming with people I want to get to know more a little sub par.

It's good, sometimes. In the downtimes (server issues and such) you really get to know people. I've been to a few LAN parties which just devolved to us going outside (shocker I know) and ****ing around (tackling each other, wrestling, running around, etc). They're usually loads of fun, except for that time I almost fried my computer...
Which is another story, for another day...

WTF have you hit puberty? I've not ONCE had physical contact with another person. "Wrestling and touching"....sounds gay.

LAN parties are supreme gay.

Just get a couple hotel rooms, or one big room somewhere and get crunk.

I rather enjoy small lans with close friends, but thats about it.

But given some opportunity for some large lans, like quakecon or some such, I would gladly jump in.

Organisation skills are paramount with this sort of thing.
I would be willing to help organize it.. Just need people to turn up.. Or as I proposed. Go to a iseries LAN or something?

I get told enough on line that I suck at games, I really don't want to be told the same thing at a lan party too.

Eh, I don't know. Maybe I'd go.

It does raise the question why there isn't a Quakecon style event for Valve fans though.

I might go if I can raise the funds. I'm only really 'good' at CSS though. Speaking of which, if any of you UK-ers wanna game with me, just add me on friends.

You have no friends. <3

Well its an interesting idea. Best place would be somewhere where its easy to get to from anywhere in Britain, which is probably easier said than done.

I loves Dekstar!

On another note. The Multiplay lans have gone downhill to be fair. The only decent one they host now has to be StratLAN. Last decent LAN I went to though would probably be LeachLAN, always prefered the smaller ones over the Iseries.

Going to a large lan is better imo.. if we have a seperate one and 30 people say their comming and only 5 show.. then that is gonna suck where on the other hand theres still thousands of other players..
