Lan?

me and my brother set up lan connection on our computers, and it works, except.... It wont allow me access some files, like program files, and whatnot, i tried putting it on shared through network, but the option is blanked out. anyway i can set it up to allow it?

Also, how can i set up to allow each other to access each others desktop?

The reason you can't share Program Files is because 90% of the programs wouldn't work anyway. When you access them over the network, the program files would try to execute on your installation of Windows, and your installation of Windows wouldn't have the relevant registry values that the program would need to run.

The desktop is just another folder. If you go to C:\Documents and Settings\<insertuserhere> you'll find the Desktop folder. Right click on it, go to the Sharing and Security tab and set your options and it should now work across the network.
