Lands of Lore

Anyone remember the good ol' RPG series Lands of Lore?. The first was my least favorite, the second and third are nearly tied. Lands of Lore 3 is probably still on my "great games" list, simply because of the atmosphere the characters, and the music. It'd be too much to ask to see an LOL4, although it would be a pleasant surprise. But once EA swallowed up the Westwood crew the chances of that died.

I would be satisified if they just took the lore and whatnot, and slapped a new name onto it. Eh well, one can hope.

I'm pretty sure I had a demo disc with that on it back in the day. It wouldn't run on my old comp.

hehe, I'm probably the only one that REMEMBERS playing it, lol! (no pun intended). Its a pity, the series had a lot of potential.

Oh--I understand Lore 3 had its flaws. Although I wouldn't say all the worlds were repetitive. The Underworld and Shattered Desert, for example (such as escaping from the old Nod base in the latter). The atmosphere was overall great, but I had my grips with the game.

As for the flaws, the world was extremely under-populated, numerous bugs, and it was pretty short as well. The graphics were a little out-dated at the time too. That was Westwood's first attempt at a REAL RPG, it failed on a lot of points, but for me, it was a great experience. Hopefully, there will be a sequel that will erase the numerous flaws of Lore 3.
