I'm thinking about which to bring, I have both. I was going to bring both but now I'm a little concerned about my desktop. What do you all think? Should I bring both or just the laptop? (I play lots of graphic intensive games on my desktop which I know my lappy cant handle). Also, whenever I go home on weekends and week long vacations, is it really safe to leave my desktop alone (I'm overprotective) or should I take it home with me (thinking that will be a bit of a hassle).

Desktop.

I myself didn't bring my desktop from overseas, buying a laptop because I figured it would have more utility. I was wrong. I rarely, if ever, use my laptop outside of my own room. The problem with the desktop was an issue of space, but I could have worked it out.

I'm not dying or anything, but as a gamer at heart, it does terribly suck to not play anything more technically advanced than Half-Life (**** you very much integrated Intel video cards).

Either would do but if you do a lot of homework or stuff outside of your room then definitely take the laptop. My brother just has a desktop at college but he always brings it home for the summer/breaks.

I'd bring both

use the desktop for gaming/main use
use the laptop for its mobility in class and such

Yeah thats what I'm thinking by bringing both (and to play ol' HL anytime anyplace :))

Get a laptop, but get a usb mouse and keyboard, and a big monitor for your desk. Laptops become desktops easily.

I leave my Desktop at my student house, and take my laptop back and forth.

It's got a proper graphics card and everything! :p

Take both, definately.
Your gonna want to play games arn't you.
