Okay, I'm using a laptop for school right now (emachines (stfu it used to be a decent laptop) m6680, win xp sp2) and it's giving me issues. Whenever I disconnect my monitor, when I plug it back in, it doesn't support the native resolution (1680 x 1050), only 1600x1200 and 1280x1024. When you select 1600x1200, it still only displays 1280x1024 so you have to scroll around.
Once I restart the computer it works fine, but it doesn't work if I plug the monitor in while the laptop is turned off.
Also, every time I plug in my printer it tries to install the drivers again.
I can cancel through it but it's just a pain in the ass.
I don't know if there's anything I can do about it, but if anyone has advice, let me know.
Oh, the monitor is a samsung syncmaster 205bw, and the printer is an hp deskjet 4100.
