Laptop is broken

Yay! My laptop fell off a chair and is now broken. It takes a year and a half to start up now and both times I got it to start up it stopped working within a minute (blue screen of death the first and just freezing the second). I think the hard drive is broken. Fun!

On the bright side I'm just back from a paintballing trip! Cheered me up a bit!

Anyone else break anything valuable recently?

The power supply of my desktop broke down a couple of days ago. It wasn't my fault though, and it's still under waranty. Lucky me!

I really need to check the waranty crap for this. THERE MAY STILL BE TIME! Got it in a closing down sale so no hope of returning it to the shop. Anyone know what Samsung are like when it comes to waranties/returning stuff?

My dad's laptop has a dent in it from falling and is really slow as well. I wonder if that might be the cause, as it's not cluttered with unneccesary background apps etc.

A laptop hard drive shouldn't be too hard to change over. Check your model number / series and there will probably be a video on youtube showing you how to fit a new one. They tend to be easy to take out (10 screws or so...). Finding compatible HDDs might be trickier, but if its a new lappy you'll be fine.

I broke my PSP last week, for 5 minutes. Pandora batteries ftw.

My mum dropped her laptop tonight. Won't boot up, and I get a check media/cable message and it won't boot up.

Checked HDD and motherboard connections etc, all ok. Tried booting with Vista and XP disc, no luck.

Feckededed HDD?
