laptop shortcuts randomly not working

Ok so this is the biggest bitch I have with this laptop. One second I'm using it fine, I use alt + arrows to move forward or backwards among pages. I also use the side of the touchpad to scroll up and down. Randomly this shit stops working and I have no idea why, and it starts working again 5 minutes later. Is there something I'm doing to turn it off? Why does it turn back on just as randomly? This is all using Firefox.

My touch-scroll, and the click scroll I have on my laptop pad stops working after watching fullscreen flash videos on websites like youtube. Used to think restarting Firefox would fix it, but it seems to just randomly go on its own after a while. However, sometimes coming on hl2.net and typing something in a reply text box would fix the scroll issues.

I'm on an Acer 5050 btw.

Almost definitely the problem then. Unfortunately I haven't found a fix yet.

The fix isn't in the video, but the site I got the link from says That to re-enable scrolling, you need to click on the same page as the video you were watching, then press spacebar two times.

Sounds simple enough. It'll be about 2 weeks before I use my laptop again, hopefully I'll remember.
