So my Friend offered me this brand new laptop for a $1000

Do you think it is worth that and is good for gaming??
or should i just buy a new computer instead??

Sounds like that laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300D. Sadly you won't be able to figure out why it's rated so poorly unless you can read German. Here's another review.

Plus, if I've really got the correct model, $1000 is not a good price for it at all.

Actually it might also be an HP Pavilion dv5-1211AX. In that case the $1000 price would be much more generous, but the specs are very similar to the ones for the Toshiba I linked.
