It's looking good, but imo HL2 has better textures.

Agreed. The character models make my jaws open, but the overall texture work is still not that awesome.

Still it's an rpg - and considering how grand it's scale is (must be a hell lot of environments) it's pretty nice.

I suspect that most of the Half-Life2 screenshots we've seen were captured from a computer system so powerful that most of us will never actually see those same visuals - well, maybe we will, two years from now when we buy a new PC.

Whereas with Vampire, I have a hunch that most of the screenshots were captured from mid-range PCs, and that many people will actually see better visuals when they play.

I just think that Valve are better at marketing games. In other words, they're better liars.

True , they actually gave the specs of the computer the used. I think it had an Athlon 3000 or something, 1024 Mb DDR and a Radeon 9800. So it's slightly better than what most gamers have but not so much.

they're really show off the particle system well, i heard they have a dynamic hair system as well as the clothing system, but can't really see how it could work from the pics, as the hair is all solid and textured. Anyway, i'll get it as soon as it's out over here in the UK (still don't know when that is?). From the screenshots i've seen, there is a wide range of quality in textures, from HL2 quality, to the quality seen here (which i would say is the worst), so i would presume that this is the most realistic setting - still if it can provide almost Poser quality gfx at this level, then i'm impressed.

Still this is shaping up to be a great week - HL2, WoW Beta (when the server gets back up, i was having so much fun) and then this on possibly friday?

Doesnt look anywhere near as good as half-life 2 but still probably a good game.
