LCD/TFT monitors are todays standard and I feel kinda "old" with my 17" CRT.
I've been thinking about getting myself an LCD monitor for about a year and a half now but still haven't bought it yet.

What can you tell me about LCD/TFT monitors, I was considering a 17-19" for around $280-380, are there any recommended monitors for gaming for my budget?

What concerns me is that the monitor might not be fast and sharp enough for games, become blurry and stuff like that, do they?

Ohh that's the price they usually put on 17" LCD's in sweden. That Viewsonic 20" is around $650 in sweden :O

Viewsonic makes great LCD screens
I <3 mine

Viewsonic is awesome. I have a 19" LCD that I got for $300 and it hasn't failed me since. I haven't seen any ghosting at all in games, much better than a CRT imo, soft on the eyes. With ClearType enabled everything is so smooth. You just have to be able to handle the native resolution which is usually 1280x1024. You could put it at a lower res but then its not as crisp.

I love CRT, but 3ms LCD Monitors sound promising for gaming.

I have a BenQ FP91G+ which has an 8ms RT and you can't tell between a CRT.

Can the Apple LCD displays be used for PC? I wouldn't mind one of those, slow response time though. I think 16ms.

Viewsonic VX924. This thing is fekking amazing. Its what made me part with my beloved crts. I noticed no difference except a VERY acceptable difference in contrast. The blacks on my lcd arnt quite so black as the crt was, but use it for like 3 days and you wont be able to tell. Its a 19in and not terrible on the wallet.

Yes - I think you need DVI though, I'm not sure. Check apple.com.

I have a Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP 20.1-inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD.

It is amazing. I have personally yet to see another monitor (CRT) included that matches it.

Just slap a converter dongle on it.
