A new Left 4 Dead 2 patch has been released earlier today, the major changes include:[br]

Gameplay:
  • Fixed where last round of upgraded ammo didn't have upgrade effect
  • Jockeyed survivor now glows for infected team in all cases
  • Charger now applies a small amount of damage when charging through physic props
  • Fixed Charger ability timer not resetting when killing a survivor with low health on their third strike

SDK:
  • When browsing for a func_instance filename, the proper path relative to the current bsp will be returned. This allows level designers to use instances from the base game in dlc maps without having to manually fix up the filename
  • Changed base.fgd default skybox to one that exists in L4D2
  • Added env_instructor_hint to fgd, as well as content/game icon images
  • Deadline URL fix

The full changelist is here.[br]

In other news, last week in CES Valve and Razer demoed the Razer & Sixense "Ultra Motion Controller" for PCs with Left 4 Dead 2 to show us how easy it was to chop zombies with it. For more info and a video, click here.

That motioncontrollerthing, was really REALLY weird.. Would be fun to stay in front of the screen, and slaughter zombies with the katana! =D

Those motion controls would be fun to play with a few times, but in the end I'd much rather use a keyboard and mouse.

Is it just me or did the two dildos seem a bit laggy?
Anyway, I like the concept and probably will buy the product, but the only games I would probably use those in are rail shooters and zeno clash :D

The motion controls sound a bit poor. Tilt to the left to change weapon and tilt to the right to reload? I can imagine that happening at just the wrong time. And having to physically go the the keyboard to switch to grenade weapons? Not ideal.

It's early days yet though I guess.
