Legal term for stalking

Anybody know the legal term for stalking?

Like, say creeper mc creeperson was stalking some chica all over the place, and she were to get a restraining order for him. On what legal grounds would the restraining order be written?

I always thought it was just stalking. Stalking is a term used in legalese as well, isn't it? Would kind of be a form of harassment.

Or just harrassment - it's not always aggravated. Stalking is an umbrella term, under which many legal classifications of wrongdoing can feasibly exist.

Stalkers can sometimes get done for assault, at least in the UK where the legal definition of assault is 'making someone apprehend the threat of immediate force'. There were a bunch of cases in the late 90s where people got convicted for phoning up women and breathing down the receiver.
