Legit. key already used when I install!!!

Hello
I bought HL² Ep One just after finishing HL². I tried to install it but it says my key is already being used. It's a brand new game from the retail store.
What can I do?

I already tried that (yet thanks for your answer!) but they just said I needed a "support" account.. WTF is that?? I have a legit account, I paid for both games, and it's a p*** in the *** to get things going! I don't mean to overcomplain, but I'm decently proficient with computer games, it's just their method that is purely difficult. I tried to create a support account, then. But it did'nt work, it asked for a "value" in "used ID"..
 
You need a Support Account (free) to Ask A Question, see.
 
Go through the support method again. What has happened is someone had evidently had that copy before you and registered the cd-key and perhaps returned it. You are only really paying for the cd-key considering all content is downloadable from steam. Anyway, most shops don't refund opened software, but some do. So you can take it back for another copy, or VALVe may be able to do something for you. Stick with it. I must say, you've been very unlucky here.

I'm still _really_ pissed off. It's like always, always taking and paying for the ticket to get on the train, except that one day when the machine is down and you just get going because you're late, just before being fined by the controller for not having your ticket, just a couple minutes later. It's just plain unfair. I mean everything was legit, I refuse to use warez, DL softwares, key generators, etc., out of respect for the game designers (I'm an author myself, I wouldn't want my work to be stolen), and all I get is:
1. my local retail won't take back an opened copy, it's internal policy
2. steam does not answer to my queries
I don't know what to do but I sure won't be buying Valve games anytime soon in the future. This su***!
 
I've sent so steam support pictures of the bill and of the game, I'm waiting for a reset, but they do not answer... They really don't care about their customers, it's a shame from such a company..
 
Gordon Freeman > I complain too much, that's right. I also paid for a game I can't use. Sorry to sound pissed, but I feel robbed and do not like it.
 
Where did you buy it from? Boycott the damn place for selling an illegit copy!
