Well with the PS3 being released soon we're bound to see a lot on Ebay.

There was an interview on my local news station about the release of it and was interviewing some kid in High School about the PS3 who was waiting in line tonight to buy one tomorrow. He was saying all of the great things about.

However, at the end of the interview he said how much it was, and he planned to sell it on ebay for some profit. I laughed, but then it got me thinking of whether it is legal or not to buy one, then re-sell it immediately for profit.

To me it feels like those ticket scalpers at the big events, except ownership and property laws apply.

I'm just wondering if it really is illegal or not, and what everyone's thoughts on the topic is.

I'm certain it's not illegal.

I don't care about it. If people are so obsessed/stupid that they'll pay thousands of dollars for one...then by all means let them.

It's actually a pretty good idea. Buy it for the amount, then sell it for double to some idiot, then buy it again later on for even cheaper.

i heard on the radio about this. they sad that on ebay if you wanted to sell a ps3 before launch; that would have to have like a rating of at least 98% and i think around 65 comments.

It's not illegal, the kid is actually pretty damn smart considering they're going for upwards of $2,200 on ebay

edit- a PS3 just ended at $3,800...sweet jesus...I bought my car for less money than that...http://cgi.ebay.com/PLAYSTATION-3-P...QcategoryZ62054QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Said it before and I'll say it again.

People are stupid. (The ones paying thousands for a console that costs less than half that.)
