Let's talk monitors.

I need help. I'd like a 17incher or a 19incher. I want a high refresh rate (85Hz or up) at 1280x800 or whatever it is.
I might even be willing to get a LCD, because I've heard that the newest models are fast enough to not have the blurring that previously made them worthless for games.

But all the review sites I read are either too sparse, or too conflicted.

Does anyone have any advice? Good image quality, low price? No distortion? No goofy AG lines? Isn't going to "pop" after three months? what's the best monitor out there?

I don't know much about monitors, but I read that the Samsung monitors are quite good. You can also usually trust Sony to make a quality product.

I recently bought a samsung 21" CRT ....Its very nice and not overly expensive.

.20 dotpitch
anti-glare coaing
flat screen
max resolution is 2048 x 1536 / 75 Hz

Go to PCWORLD.COM they have excellent ratings of monitors every month. They certainly didn't do me wrong with my Sony CPD-E200 :)

Cant help there... I do know that LCD's still arent THAT good (the ones that are are so damn expensive here its cheaper to buy a 30' TV instead)... And I beleive frequency is different on them, you dont need as high as with CRT screens. That's about all I know :)

19inch i got here :)

the screen size def does matter! I mean the screen size tells you what res you can go up to!

my monitor is a load of crap no wonder it has "packard bell" on it :cheese: yea i want a 20" 19" veiwable...my monitor is friggin dull ..cant see shit in games even with the glare and brightness all up its still dull.....but u see how much monitors cost? grrrrr £200-300 for a decent one.....but its worth it in the long run! :bounce:
