LG DVD Drive incompatible?

My brothers LG DVD drive seems to not pick up HL2, i know there is nothing wrong with the disc, and his DVD player, plays everything else, just not HL2, anyone else had this problem??? Its annoying, because i have an LG drive but its slightly different and it works on their, but he wants his own copy to play CS:S online and stuff, he aint gonna get one until he knows his drive will run it?

I had the same problem on a lg 4160b dvd drive. I was installing form the cd retail. I could not even read the cd or autorun without crashing. What I did was when back to the store and ask for a new retail cd and the new cd work.

nope i have a lg dvd rom iand it works perfect.. must be the copy
