Is anyone following the LHC event webcast right now?

http://webcast.cern.ch/lhcfirstphysics/

They just ramped the beams up successfully to 3.5 TeV and will make the beams collide soon; for the first time at max capacity (for this year) at 7 TeV.

You can follow semi-realtime statistics of the machine and its detectors here.

I'm visiting this next week!! I'll keep an eye out for Gordon Freeman.

What are you doing while you're there, KiplingsCat?

Getting a tour and some lectures I think. I'm going with the college Physics Society. We're also spending a few days in Geneva, it should be good.
