"Liberals, like you, love to label things and then think that the labeling has accomplished something. If that had been the case, then Churchill's calling Hitler a Nazi would have ended the war. But no, people like me had to get into the trenches and stop the Nazis. And there were always those tut-tutting back home about what a nasty business it is to stop the bad people, and can't we all just "get along."

typical partisan rhetoric. Sounds like Bill OReilly or Ann Coulter or perhaps even Rush Limbaugh....but no ..it's Jack Thompson refering to Doug Lowenstein president of ESRB

is it me or has "make wide generalized flaming statement on political affiliation and avoid the actual issue" become the norm?

btw here's more Jack

"Dave, it is laughable, it is absurd, that you have copied your email to Bill Gates, of all people. This is a guy whose Halo trained Malvo to kill in D.C. This is a guy who now has put all the Grand Theft Auto games on his XBox. This is a man who is going to release Bully when the coast is clear in the spring."

I'd love to beat him silly with a copy of halo, show him that games really do lead to violence :E

Topic?

Anyway, anyone live near Miami?

Damned Authoritarian Jack. He really is a c*nt.

I dunno. I assume it wouldn't at this point since it was probably bombarded with mail ever since it went public.

Then again, he strikes me as the kind of person that would read through every single hateful message and individually reply to every "worthless gamer". So it's possible it still works.

Wow. The stupidity of this guy amazes me more and more. His vision, clearly clouded by his hatred of pretty much everything, is virtually useless to see that facts before him. To say that Halo trained this kid is absurd. If he knew any facts on the case, and as an attorney he should, he would see that this kid was born into a broken family, lived in poverty with friends of the family while his mother travelled looking for work, then met up with John Allen Muhammad and lived with him in a homeless shelter for a while before getting started on his "training." John was the real problem here, taking a needy, neglected teen and giving him support and attention and nurturing while he imparted his expert skills as an Army sniper to his young protege. Halo has almost nothing to do with actually shooting a real gun. Ridiculous that Thompson would completely skip over all the facts that made and won the case against these two. What a self-serving imbecile.

Why the hell doesn't he set his sights after America's Army--that game is actually supposed to train youngsters to engage in military actions, including sniping and killing and such! The government isn't even trying to hide that fact--they are touting it as a great recruitment tool! Its a scary world we live in....

As wise people have said before, as soon as anyone makes any kind of Nazi reference, their argument is completely void. On top of that, he compares himself with a soldier in WW2. His level of thinking is astounding :O

Godwin's Law, plus... What should we call the second one? Thompson's Law?

Thompson's Law said:
As a pseudo-political argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will draw parallels between him or herself and a World War 2 soldier. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Thompson's Law has effectively forfieted the argument.
