life after humans

Anyone ever read that book called Man After Man? It has the coolest illustrations/drawings of future beings.

I heard of it, but read some others by the same guys, one about what the dinosaurs would've become if the asteroid/comet had missed, and another about evolution 50 millions years after us. The illustrations are very impressive.

I wanted to watch that series on National Geographic, but I unsubscribed months ago. Anyone else with satellite TV knows of the phenomenon where the best shows are always on channels you haven't subscribed to, or unsubscribed from, never the ones you have at the moment. :rolling:

Go figure

Are Life After Humans and Life After People the same thing? The first one (that stern posted) looks like National Geographic and the second one that Ren posted looks like the History channel.

It was Ok, saw it when it first aired. I liked the skyscrapers full of cats and other little animals. And was very sad when they fell.

EDIT: The one REN.182 was the one i saw, it also came before the national geographic one

I think Pixar's version is going to be more entertaining than either of these.

So, we are gone, another species becomes more and more intelligent, build cities, and go to the moon, see our shit....

"Frank...WTF is this shit?"

Didn't realise they were different vids :p
Was still an interesting watch though.

Kinda sucks that is it does happen there wont be much left to say that people around this time actually existed :p

I remember seeing this, kinda disheartening. Hell if we make it to another planet that was previously inhabited we may never know they existed except to maybe fossils.

Just watched that google video, pretty cool. CGI felt a bit second rate though. The physics, mostly.

It also barely scratches the surface, it feels like. I'd be more interested in a far more detailed documentary of the first 5 years after people, or something.

They're both based on the book "the world without us".

wtf i can't watch any of this stuff linked to this tapespace.com site. it doesn't load the site

who the hell would replace us (if we even get replaced)? like my brain can't even begin to imagine what animals would evolve to be as intelligent as us or even come close. And wtf would they look like? How would their buildings/environment differ from ours? Will they have music, TV, movies, books etc?

Imagine though, after all our hard work in discovering things, building things, we from our own stupidity, obliterate ourselves and boom, that's it, everything we worked so hard to achieve is gone.

It's really interesting to sit and think about a scenario where let's say eventually a new intelligent life form emerges and becomes the next "human race". How will their early scientific hypotheses differ from ours? Will they develop religion? Believe in some sort of supreme being?

Just thinking about this really fascinates me lol

I remember some discovery channel show a long time ago that said that giant squids would, big ones bigger than elephants and smallers ones in the trees. Like monkeys.
