Well, it's the first time I've gotten it on camera, I thought it was pretty cool but I still think I could have done better. I'll keep trying next storm we get:

Wow. What camera do you use? Pictures are crazy clear. Nice shots also, like the setting.

Its game like.

The setting was forced, it was the only place I had that was under a roof; you can't tell but it was raining.

The camera is nothing fancy just an SD700IS. I'd say for the money, i've been impressed with it.

Second one is nice.

Cool how you captured 'omg lightning goes up first then down omg omg omg', you know?

How do you get a picture like that? Did you use your lightning-fast reflexes to snap the shot just as it striked orrr?

Also how did you stop the camera from seeing any falling rain in the shot?

They're both pretty awesome pics :D

I've been trying to get shots like that for a long time, I just don't know how...or what I would do. My guess is I would set it on continuous shots until I finally got one *that would fill my card up in no time..*

I actually really want to do this now.

Actually, he captured the ability of thick clouds to block light... They're all full lightning bolts, it's just there were several lower/thicker clouds blocking his view of those parts of the lightning.

It's really easy actually, just adjust the shutter speed to a couple seconds, I did 2.5 for these shots, and keep pressing the button. Eventually you'll catch a strike.
