ABOUT

Line of Sight immerses you in the most controversial conflict of modern times: The Vietnam War. Taking on the role of a rookie on his first tour of duty, you will experience the fear, chaos and atrocities of the Vietnam War. From the napalm bombardments of civilian villages and the gruesome VietCong booby traps, to the permanent threat of invisible foes and deadly ambushes, Line of Sight dares to go where no other war game has gone before.

It's January 1967. After being drafted and completing basic training, you are plunged into the steamy jungles of Indochina. Heroic ideals of fighting for honor and country quickly fade in the face of the fierce warfare: there is no glory in death.

As a rookie soldier, you must quickly learn the finer arts of jungle and urban warfare to become a battle-hardened soldier and survive your first tour of duty.

Your Base Camp forms the central focus for your Operations, with your primary objective to pacify threats from the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army. You will need to venture deep into the hostile Vietnamese countryside to search out and destroy enemy troops and encampments. With visibility low, potentially every bush and tree could be an enemy-hiding place. Only by careful observation and hastily learnt war craft shall the enemy be overcome.

I wish those of you whom do apply, to please be profesional, and have alot of expirence. I need not waste my time with someone whom is not interested in commiting alot of time to LoS. Thanks,

I'm actually glad you asked this question. Firstly, the player will be able to use vehicles not only as a means of tranportation, but rather assault tactics as well. Otherwise, the gameplay aspect I am trying to get at. This will be a teambased modification, not a run and gun game, you actually have to think to get through the levels, and protect your own men as well. Another different aspect is you are not the commander, you are a recruit. Rather than giving orders, you take them. I wishing this will be very realistic, but as well be very fun. The multiplayer aspect will be that of different types of gameplay, including vehicles, and many weapons. It will be a bit like Battlefield Vietnam, but rather than picking a pre-made loadout, you can pick a pistol, standard gun, and other equipment you wish. Each item will weigh a certain amount of lbs, and you will have a limit at which you can choose untill you exceed that limit. There will also be a tracking system as well, so with more expirence, the better loadout as well as the more equipment you can carry.

I am currently in the process of creating more of a detailed features, such as the Soldner features, but much more detailed, and different aspects at which if faces.

I hope this helped a bit.

So you, like, came up with the mod's name all by yourself, right?

Because if you didn't, that'd be plagiarism, right?

Line of Sight: Vietnam

Just thought you should know. Or be reminded.

Now, I'm going to go finish Apocalypse Now Redux. Excuse me.

Give me a break, lol! It's a name...Plagarism for a name? If you have nothing better to do in your life, than something is honostley wrong with you.

You seem to speak words, yet I don't understand them.

(Unless I'm particularly dense today and that was a bit of well hidden sarcasm?)

Good, good. Please pardon my rather dim thought process today....it's been a while since I've slept.

You're in for quite a wait then,

But then again, the guy has like 5 accounts.

I have no life because I realized that there's a published game on the market by the same name, and in a strange "coincidence," has the exact same subject matter (Vietnam)? Wow... I guess we're all losers here...

Oh, and "Plagiarism for a name?" Yes. If I started a mod called "Call of Duty" or "Far Cry," I promise you you will be shut down.

[ Sarcasm ]I appologize for my slight originality and knowledge of games. I'll return to doing nothing with my life now. [ /Sarcasm ]

Sorry that had to be posted like that :S

Apocalypse Now kicked ass though. Martin Sheen stealing that Lt. Col.'s surfboard was the funniest thing :D
