Little Big Planet IGN review

This is the only ps3 game that looks interesting. Want to play but not want to buy :o

Stupid single-console releases.

Looks good though.

Definitely gonna play it ... haven't decided yet if it's a rental or a buy. Games cost too goddamn much.

After the beta gave me the most fun in front of a screen since I first discovered porn, I'm definitely buying LittleBigPlanet and playing the shit out of it in my half-term holiday. With this covering my fun and FarCry 2 covering my bloodlust it's gonna be a good time for gaming.

If you have a PS3 you should do yourself a favor and buy one of the few great games it offers.

I already bought my copy like three months ago, lmao. I knew the instant I laid eyes that this was going to be a special game.

Pity I didn't get into the beta...

I've never liked platformers (except super mario world SNES), but I really like the art style, and it has some really good features.

Yeah, this, Fable 2, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia are my only MUST-HAVEs for October. November is a totally different story...:E

This game is really going to do wonders for gamers, bedroom level designers, and other devs when they see the sheer unbridled creativity of (some of) the masses. It's win-win for everyone.

Ehhh not really my type of game. Will look into more when it comes out.

I very well may. But I don't buy many games ... I'm more of a rent it, beat it, and move on kind of guy. That way I get to play most/all the games I want without breaking the bank. The only reason I would even consider buying this is because of the potential longevity in the creation and sharing tools.

Honestly I think I will wait until the inevitable "greatest hits" or "GOTY Edition" comes out and rent it in the meantime. $60 a pop is just way too much to justify spending on any game that isn't the second coming of Christ (GTAIV, MGS4, etc.).

Goddamnit. I don't think anything outside of Team ICO's new project or a big price drop is going to convince me to get a PS3 at this stage, but this looks so sweet. :(

I really, really want this. I may eventually buy a PS3 just to play this.

Oh, I thought this was a joke. You gotta read the original comments to fully understand. Yeah thats bad, but its been done before...

I've played the beta and it's not really worth it. It gets old REALLY fast. I was seriously glad I got to try it as I was well hyped for it.

Not to mention the voice quality is horrific and you can only play on your own in build mode.

It's an offline mode only, you might be able to play with friends sitting next to you but you can't build with users online.

That's good to hear.

I think I may get it once I see people reaching the full potential of the editor. I just found the Beta (which didn't seem restricted in anyway) a little meh, it just felt like any other platformer and finding good levels wasn't easy.

I hear what you are saying. There will clearly be a whole bunch of nonsense out there when people start fiddling with the editor, but the system is set up such that the highest rated levels will float to the top and will be easiest to find, though you can surely find any level you like as well if you search for it. It seems to be extremely well thought-out and it will only be a matter of time before some really clever folks begin to develop "levels" that no one has ever dreamed of, esp. when they look at this game as merely a platformer. Looking at the calculator level, the Final Fantasy music level, the pinball level, the Space Invaders level it is easy to see very quickly how much potential this game has for amazingness and how it takes the standard definition of "platformer" and completely redefines it.

Another review score, this time from Edge magazine. Little Big Planet joins the short list of games that have received 10/10. Way to go LBP!

Yeah the latest Edge also gave Fable II 9, Far Cry 2 8 and Dead Space 8.

Is there any point in getting this game just for the SP?

I would say yes and personally I will probably play levels most and create levels least but it's still terrific fun from what I played in the beta.

Getting this day 1! HUGE!

To bad day one is now Nov 6 or some shit. ****ing stupid. I ****ING TOOK A PICTURE OF IT IN MY ****ING HAND!!!! Now i have to send it back! ****!

It really is fun, almost done with the sp. Been mostly playing with my brother. I was testing out the editor and its seriously pro.

Agreed. The editor is amazing. The tutorials take a little while to get through, but once you are done you are a content-making machine. Seriously, some of the stuff you can create is just plain awesome. I made little floating ships you control by leaning one way or the other as you float in any direction...now to build a compelling level around that gameplay tool...this game rocks because I make it to my own specifications and desires. Incredible.
