Well, i feel a bit silly, but i cant figure out something. This is the first time i have made a map for hl2dm. I was making it, and i wanted to test something so i compiled the map, went in, it worked fine. Noticed a few probs ( doors too small etc.). Went back to hammer and fixed them. BUT when i ran it, the map was exactly the same as before with no changes? What am i doing wrong??

did u change ur config so that compiled maps are placed in a diffrent folder?
that could be the problem (i think that config got changed at the last hammer update)

did you recompile the map?

you have to recompile the map again, and then reload the map in game

i did, but i didnt reload the map. How do you do that?

ummm

bring the console down and type

map mapname

that will load your map or you can type restart in the console once the map is already loaded.

the console is not activated by default. go to options then hit the advanced tab, not sure what option it is.

the changes you've made has made an error in the map that it can't compile properly. Look in the compile log to see if there's any errors or double check in hammer the changes that you've made.

aaha. when i saved it under a different name and ran, it said:
The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

Does anybody know what the problem is?

Like the first guy said, your map mustn't be in the correct folder. Hence why the system cannot find the file specified. And you re-compiled it right?

save your map as some NEW name, then check for errors just in case (Alt+p) then compile it with out runing the game, find your new maps BSP file that you compiled and put it in : C:/program files/valve/steam/SteamApps/username/Half-Life 2 Deathmatch/HL2mp/maps

then run HL2DM from your play games list and load up your map.

dammit, still says "The system cannot find the file specified."
it worked fine with hl2 maps. I started a new map, and got the same problem.
