What up guys.

This year I'm finishing high school in France and I need to take a desicion for next year.
This year I started studing Chinese as I know that knowing Chinese plus French, Spanish and English could get me a good job.

Problem is I still don't know if staying two more years in France ( wich kind suck) to study international businnes and chinese, so I could then go to China to get work experience and then apply for a well paid job.
The other solution like my dads puts it, would be to just go to China next year to work/study there even though I'll be paid Chinese salary so I can get first hand experience ( and it would be also faster leraning chinese)

The first option would be nice as I would get a solid education needed in Europe, but I would still have to freaking study witch, is really starting to boreeeee me to death, plus it would mean 2 more years for my dad to keep paying me ( wish he can, but I want to start making my own money)

And the second option would be more fun; but fuk knows how it would be in China.

So do any of you have tips, or info about life/work/study in China?
Any of you learning Chinese ?

Hm, tuff choice. As for me, i would want a secure future that has no possibilites to get screwed up. So getting the foundations of a secure future would come first hand for me, thus staying in europe another 2 years. But i could be wrong

Chinese is fuking hard.

I tried learning mandarin from a self-learning book thing but I couldn't really keep up. It must be a lot easier if you have a teacher though.

Hey, I know Chinese. I used to be Mandarin linguist when I was in the army. I'd love to do the same thing you're talking about after I graduate college in May, but I know that if I don't go before I find a job, I'll likely lose the chance. Going to the country of your target language is always the best way to develop your skills, and I really recommend you take the opportunity.

Chinese is fuking hard.

It's really not that bad, once you understand the basic structure of the language. 其實, 漢語的語法比較簡單. 沒有英文那么複雜! ;)

No conjugation, no plurals or cases, easy to pronounce, and with vocabulary that makes sense. Not to mention marketable.

become a mime

after all you are french!

or maybe bake those uber hard breads that can pierce trough the armor of a tank, maybe the chinese army will be interesed

You should speak to kirovman, he lived in China for a number of years. I've wanted to go to Shanghai/Shenzhen/Hong Kong for a long time, but I've not had the opportunity so far. The money you earn there should go a long way though - as a barely-qualified EFL teacher you usually earn between 300 and 500 pounds a month, and that's enough to live a very nice lifestyle indeed.
