Load problem

Hello

I have a realy big problem and I ask any good soul four help.
I just bought Half Life 2 and It works perfectly; but when I try to load any saved game, a prgress bar comes up and it goes back to the menu with a black background.
I know it sounds weird but i just don't understand it, some help would be extremely kind.

Is it doing that with all Save Games?
It sounds like your save files are damaged and the game can't load them.
