Load times & slow down

I know some other users have had this problem, but is it normal to have load times of approx 4minutes? Could some extra RAM overcome this and will extra RAM stop the oh so annoying visual stutters i get during the game?

mine only takes like a min or less with 348ddr pc2100 ram what are yoru specs

yeah i have that too
more then 3 minutes loading time

my specs:
2.4 gigahertz
256 mb ram (going to buy an extra 512)
ati radeon 9250 256 mb

and ingame stutters too playing at 640 x 480 and almost all settings to lowest

upgrade your RAM and download the latest drivers for ur game. maybe it will solve ur problems...

Anyway, I have a much weaker PC than urs... the game works fine for me in semi-high settings.

2.8 Ghz Processor
256 RAM
ATI Radeon 9200

Maybe its my RAM, it is quite poor :-(

yeah i think loading times are made by ram memory and ingame low framerates are caused by videocard

Slow Game load times are caused by a Slow Disk Drive.

The more Data you put on your Hard Drive the slower it gets.

Unless you're running a CPU and RAM from five years ago then it's CPU, RAM and Hard Drive.

Have you defragged your HD since installing HL2? The file fragmentation of my .gcf files was pretty bad after I'd installed. First thing you should do after installing is defrag.
