I bought Doom 3 and I liked it, my computer had 0 issues with Ultra Detail and so I moved on to Half-Life 2: Game of the Year! and -

1. Both HL2 and HL:Source pause to load (LOADING...) every bloody 5 minutes. This really surprised me considering HL's age.

2. It's bloody annoying. So I don't know what to do considering that I'm not dealing with fps at all, the game runs well. :afro:

Are the pauses hardwired into the off-line games? I really can't play it because it just freezes in hallways for, like, 8-10 seconds.

In the first few maps, this indeed is the case (play 2 minutes, load 2 minutes, play 2 minutes...) , but as you progress, the maps will be longer and you'll be playing half an hour per map.
