local game files

Steam gives me an error saying there is a problem with my local game files and it needs to redownload them. So i click ok and it just sits there for a minute and says the same thing. None of the source powered games work

Please help

Ok, first of all can you get the error message up again and copy the exact error message word for word??

I'm not familiar with this error so to ensure I know exactly what you mean just copy the whole error message and post it here.

Also if you can click on your Start button > and select Search > Do a search on your computer for all files ending in .gcf. To do that you generally need to type *.gcf and it will locate all those files on your computer.

When it finds some, make a note of which folder they're in and post that here too.
