Locked Folder ---> F.E.A.R. Installation

Ok then. Trying to install F.E.A.R. , and at the end am greeted with:

Can't put *this* file into *that* folder

"C:\documents and settings\all users\documents\Monolith Productions"

access is denied

That particular folder (documents) is shown as Shared Documents as an icon, but not in the address bar. It is apparently read only, and it changes straight back when I try to disable it. Unlocker detects no lock of any sort on it, and I cannot do anything with it.

F.E.A.R. is the only game i have seen which wants to put something in that folder, and i have never had to use it for anything before. This is the only profile on this computer.

This is becoming immensly frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does this logon have administrator privilages? (check User Accounts under Control Panel)

Also, the Documents and Settings folder (and sub folders) are not generally under Program Files. That is wierd.
Usually it's C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ etc

Right click on the folder and go to properties. Is there a Security tab? Make sure 'Everyone' is in the list under Group or user names.
If it isn't then click Add, advanced, find now, click on 'Everyone' and then OK.

My FEAR installation went into here C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Monolith Productions, as Asus said, that looks odd. Have you tried installing the game somewhere else?

ahh, I mis-typed the above, sorry. And this account is the admin account.

EDIT: Did it! I had to 'allow everyone on my network to alter the contents of the folder', meh
