Is it a decent upgrade from an mx518 for length?

I burn through an mx518 every month or less, and it's getting really annoying, wondering if the G5 is any better? :)

Also, how is it for aiming etc compared to the MX518? I'm pretty darn competitive in gaming, so I hope it isn't THAT big of a difference. :D

Both are very good mice.

The biggest difference isn't the performance but the removable weights and loss of the Forward button on the side. If you want to try out a G5 then go for it. I have one and like it. But I have a feeling a lot of people perfer the MX518 even if it does not have weights.

Asus, I got Logitech M-BA47 mouse that I bought probably 3yrs ago, it fits my palm so good, I love the darn thing.
I think it depends on your hand and how it feels around the mouse. The down side s that I have to clean it every week or so, but I can live with that.

id wait until the next version, so the can replace that button my thumb craves

I love my Mx518, uber precision, the G5 looks good... I might get into it... but uhh, I don't get the weights.

Ouch, I looked at more pics, they took out one of the thumb buttons! What a rip! I always bind the thumb buttons for quick weapon switching.

I'm going to get myself a Logitech G7 + G15 keyboard later =>

Yes.. just got my G15 today and it is very nice. I also have a MX1000 mouse and I assume the G-mice are good too. Yay for Logitech.

Yeah I use a G15 keyboard as well. Very slick.

The other thing I remember though about the G5 is that I don't use the wheel button much anymore because it is hard to click it unlike the previous logitech mouse I had.

The G7 sux I had it, it is freaking small looks like it was made for a kid, I hated it, went to my storage room and dag out my old M-BA47.

If you can find them.

I love the G5! Awesome grip, weights are cool, and Half-Life 2 style colours!

how do you "Burn through" a mouse in a month or less??? Do you chew on it or something?

I always bought compusa's replacement plan on my mice/keyboards and it's really easy to get the newest ones if yours break. Can even pay the difference and get a better one. Not sure if other compusa stores handle the plan differently though.

Jesus?

How much time do you SPEND on your computer?

Mouse is a mouse if you ask me.

The whole reason you'd prefer your MX518 over the G5 is because you're used to it. Buy a G5, and you'll hate it at first, but then you'll get used to it, and could care less.

Just go for it. After you spend some time with it, you'll probably not know the difference between the two.
