What do you guys think is the overall long term difference between the pro and XT? Is it worth the extra 100 dollars for the XT performance over the pro performance? or is it like the 9800pro -9800XT minor difference and would be spending the extra cash more for bragging rights than the minor performance boost?

I believe the difference is a little bigger than the 9800 series, but at the moment they're both massive overkill. I myself decided upon the pro, because by the time it becomes too slow videocards will likely have come up with tons of new options.

well, if you get a x800 pro vivo, you cna flash it to x800xt.

I havn't got a clue what that means. and I woudln't want to try it cuz i'd likely fry the card.

Its easy. Got my pro running at XT speeds with 16 pipes, stable as a rock, and with an arctic cooler 3 on it nice and cool as well, pllus ive made a £65 saving :D

Can you post a link with more information on the flash, and has anyone had problems with the flash?

flashing means basically tricking the card to think (in this case) a XT, and also unlocks the previously locked pipes...
