Really, nice job with the topic. I mean, what could be better than inviting people to flame the Hell out of other peoples' opinions solely because "it's not Half-Life".

One person even complained that Halo 2 wasn't, get this, as open-ended as the original, and was more linear and two-dimensional like Half-Life!
I'm not being a fanboy, but if Half-Life was two-dimensional, Halo was just a straight line. One dimensional.
I liked Halo, but it was about as linear as Half-Life, and in some cases even more so. Halo had many repetitive levels (the Library comes to mind) and the fact that the same five or so aliens are all over throughout the entire game is kind of annoying, with the exception of the Flood.
I know Half-Life had repetitive characters (Like headcrabs and zombies), but there was more of a variety. Halo had good points too, but I don't think there's any room to compare.
Once again, I don't know if I sound like one, but not trying to be a fanboy. I like both games, but didn't like the fact Halo2 seemed to have the same type of graphics as its predecessor.

Much like Halo 2 gets good reviews but some people hate it, the same will happen with HL2, it's inevitable, not everyone will like it.

These forums can be/are just as bad as I imagine the Bungie forums are.

And of course the forums are just complaints - all the people who aren't whining like pathetic apes because it wasn't the perfect game they've built it up to be in years of their own hype are playing the game.
