Lookin` for mod - Kind of specific

heres the deal, I'm lookin` for a mod to join because well I really have nothing better to do. I dont want Fantasy/Futuristic mods, Mod's with nothing to show, or Undeveloped mods. I do want something like the specialists, if it's action movies inspired I'm up for it (no matrix mods), if it's war based cool, I'm just looking for a professional looking mod that will be succesful. Something outside the box is also cool if u wanna talk msg me on aim at fonziedrinksmilk or msn at [email protected] . Hey TS if your startin` something for HL2 msg me guys. D:

Any way I model/skin/text/rig. And I'm hoping to learn to animate. Heres some samples:

very nice models :),,

is there any type of modelling you'd enjoy doing more than other types? I ask since you posted quite a few character models

Can you do high poly modeling aswell?
 
I do high poly head models but I've never taken it down to the body, which I'm sure I can do if i had to.

How do you feel about modeling high poly models, using geometry for as much detail as you can (so talking as many polygons as you like), texturing them with whatever methods your comfortable with. Then building a low poly cage around the part or parts, giving it a UV map or two, and baking all the the information from the high poly models to the low poly version?

Ganj, now that sounds like a mod I could get onboard with! :)
Goingt to school here in a bit but will drop u a line when I get back. Fenric what your talking about is normal mapping, which I'm not sure if hl2 even supports. But yes I can do that the easiest method being you creat a 10k model or so with good smoothing import it to zbrush2 and blow it away.

It supports normal mapping and its not just that I'm talking about. There are a great many other benefits to the method, trust me I know exactly what normal mapping is, was using it long before it was available in realtime format, and parallax mapping and all the other fun stuff the games industry is just discovering.

And before anyone says it, DoomIII is doing it only cause we in the pre-rendered CG industry did it first :E

But it looks like you chose Ganj's instead.. oh well, you'd have got paid on ours too, never mind, good luck all the same :)

PS. Shinobi is a good lad, I like him, he found some french guy who stole my avatar too which was cool of him :D
 
our staff knows that they arent going to get paid.. but of course if we get some sort of deal with valve.. then we all get paid :) plus this isnt all about money we all do this for the fun and a hobby :P

sorry I havent contacted you pezz, I've had a totally filled week,, my girlfriend is moving away for a few months so I'm spending the last days with her and I have a huge 3dsmax final due soon....

but starting this weekend I'll have a lot of time again,,

He pays his staff, because well hes rich, well honestly I dont know how much money he has, but I know he is serious about it.

you wanna work on hell blaze? I think it's a very professional horror mod for HL2. we really need some one like you, but as u can imagine, things are going to be very slow til the SDK gets out... which should hopefully be soon... like today or a little bit after E3... please consider doing this mod, and if you decide to partner up with us... contact simmo at [email protected] or contact the project leader, crawlz at [email protected] ... send them your samples and tell them thehunter1320 found you... thanks for considering...

I would second Hell Blaze actually.. Hell Blaze (especially if they talk that guy I keep pimping into working on it with them :) or Brisk1's Dawn of the Dead.
 
If you haven't finalized a decision yet, Neoshock is always looking to pick up talent. Although you'd probably start out with some prefab/weapon modeling (from what I've seen you have a lot a lot of potential for much more), our team is a great place to get experience. Our project has been around for a while, and we have members who are currently working in the Gaming, Television and Cinema industries with plenty of CG experience to give you advice on your work and your career.
