Not much goin on game wise for a while so figured Id go for something slightyl odler that I never got around to buying. Come down to either NWN and all its addons or Chronicles of Riddick. Yes I know they are very very different games but would help if someone could point out if one sucks, would make things easier for me. ;)

1) NWN is basically the only online RPG where people actually ROLEPLAY. Add in the toolset (to make that RPG you always wanted to make) and a Dungeon Master client (THIS is what makes the multiplayer aspect of the game so great, once you interact with 'NPCs' who are possessed by real players, interacting with generic NPCs as in every other game becomes boring), and NWN rocks. From joining many of the persistent worlds (kinda like MMORPGs, but no monthly fees, people who ROLEPLAY, live Dungeon Masters making sure it doesn't get dull), or played DMed sessions (at the matchmaking site www.neverwinterconnections.com , for example) or full-blown campaigns, this is the ultimate online RPG experience. Nothing ever comes close at this point in time.

As for sp, well, with the purchase of NWN and its xpacs, you get 3 official campaigns. The original one I found to be lacking, but was enjoyable. It depends how much you like hack & slash. The 2 xpacs' campaigns were much more fun, esp. the 2nd one (which is a continuation of the 1st's). And when you're done with those, you can go to nwvault.ign.com and download the hundreds if not thousands of player-made mods available. Look at the ratings or the hall of fame, and you can try out the better ones.

I can honestly say that making my own multiplayer mod and hosting it as a Dungeon Master (with some buddies who helped) with serious roleplayers (as in serious about roleplaying, not in not being funny, my mod was all about humor) on www.neverwinterconnections.com was probably my best gaming experience ever.

I can't rant enough about the toolset. With its relative ease of use and the power it offers, I must have spent hours on the toolset alone, making up scenarios, making up characters, writing dialogue. I honestly can't wait for NWN2.

AND, despite the game being 2 yrs old, it's STILL supported. Patch 1.65 just got released last week (and it wasn't NEEDED, all the major bugs were fixed years ago, it was just Bioware STILL supporting the game). AND Bioware is still making content for the game. It's only recently released its Premium mods on its Digital Distribution store (where you can purchase some Bioware-made modules for a small price - which gets you Bioware quality story, characters, music, voice-acting, etc).

NWN is the game which has provided me with the most value in my over 10 yrs of gaming. Still has 5000 players online at any given point in time, so you won't have trouble finding a good persistent world to join in, or signing up for a good DMed session. Besides, it's the only game of its kind so far (as in having a toolset and DM client online), so the players will stick to it (at least until 2006 when NWN2 comes out).

2) Chronicles of Riddick is a FPS, I guess.

wow what a comparation

If you're set of getting one of those two, I'd say NWN. There's a lot more stuff to keep you interested and it will last you longer, even without the multiplayer (like me, because I can't find a decent server).

Chronicles of Riddick is still a very good game though.

Well, if I was going to up and get a game it wouldn't be either one of them, but between those I would choose Riddick. Mainly because I hate RPGs and Riddick looks somewhat entertaining.

Thx guys, ill prolly get NWN and all its expansions which is still cheaper than CoR. :)
