Halo! Great story, lots of action and one hell of a nice multiplayer section! I swear! I just got back from slaying 31 people in a huge level by running them over, exploding them, shooting them by air... Buy buy buy buy!!!

And with your computer specs you should be able to run it smooooooooooooth!

Wait a couple of weeks and FarCry should be out...

I'm looking for nice SP game myself right now, and all I can think of is FarCry and Painkiller...

Have you tried the Theif series? try out some console games maybe? Ninja Gaiden came out on the xbox with a 9.4 score on gamespot must be good.

I sold all my consoles, kinda looking forward to some good single player games as well.

i really enjoyed freedom fighters! $20 and it's yours! lenghty and good 3rd-person shooting action! k1ll teh commi3s! :sniper:

Freedom Fighters isn't worth it! I hate the physics...

retro style

Alien VS Predator 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Clive Barker's Undying

those are some brilliant SP games

also if you havent already

Max Payne
Max Payne 2 (very short, but every second is absolute quality)

No One Lives Forever wasn't on your list but it was really good.

what about a race game?
I recomend Need For Speed Underground
estrtegy game?
warcraft 3 and its expanxion
another type?
first person shooter: operation flahspoint and its expansion
if you hav console
survival horror:resident evil(any version,especially all)
action:metal gear solid 2
adventure:the getaway

Max Payne 2 is the best third person shooter I have ever played.

If you have an N64 Zelda Ocarina of Time is good.

Silent Hill Series is good.

Black and White is good. It takes a long time to train your creature but if you can bare with it they're amazingly smart at the end.

Diablo 2 is an addicting game both on and off line.

Final Fantasys are always great I'd suggest 7, 9 and 10.

How about Hidden & Dangerous 2? Its the thinking man's Call of Duty. On the downside: its also ridden w/ bugs. Oh yeah, its both tps and fps w/ iron sights.

like others have said i reccomend:
RTS:
warcraft 3
medieval: total war
action:
max payne 2
Armed and dangerous
RPG:
fallout collection (3 games + extras for £20)
morrowind (u can spend hours on this)
star wars KOTOR
fun:
worms 3D
duke nukem manhatten project (if u live in the UK u can find it in HMV for £2. im not joking!! two pounds!! and it is very fun, with long lifetime, just no-one buys it)

When I first bought Tron 2.0, I played it non-stop until I beat it. I really got into the game and had fun playing it (just marvelling at the graphics in each new level is fun) And these days you can pick it up for 20 bucks.

If you want some old-school style RPG/FPS action, get Deus Ex. Recently I've been astonished to see how many people have never played this masterpiece, let alone heard of it. Possibly one of the best games ever made, I urge you to try it.

or

System shock 1 and 2

I had lots of fun with the first Red Faction, its not all that great visually but the gameplay is good i think. Besides you can pick it up for like 5 bucks in the bargain bin.

lots of people hate the 2nd one but DONT LET THIS STOP U FROM BUYING THE FIRST!!! i personally like the 2nd one (i think- the games not out over here yet) but many say its crap. the first game is one of the best games ever tho, and is still amazing to this day. i completed it a 2nd time not that long ago.

Why don't you go dig up some old games.

Like Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft 2, Quake/Quake 2, Mechwarrior 2, and the list goes on and on.

Great old games are way better than medicore new games.

Everyone should really be playing Deus Ex before Invisible War anyway, there's tons of references in the game about the original, people wouldn't understand or would miss them completely. But the sequel sucks anyway so who cares :p

yes...if you haven't played the original deus ex, it's an incredible game.

invisible war was worth playing (not paying $50 for) for the experience and the story, but it lacked the awe-inspiring, "what's-gonna-happen-if-i-do......THIS" feeling. not to mention that the biomod canister thing was just completely lame compared to the skill point/canister system from before....especially since i had every biomod thing fully stacked with the powers i wanted WELL before the end of the game...something that was impossible to do in the original.

and in the original, you always felt that "buyer's remorse" whenever you chose a skill and realized that you really really could've used that other skill about 10 minutes later in the game. invisible war doesn't have that feeling at all...none of the skills really matter.

anyway...the original is a must, and the sequel is worth it at a bargain price.
