Looking for a new game to buy ... recommendations?

So I've just recently quit play DAoC due to the huge time sink it is, and I'm looking for a new, non-MMO game to play. I've played all of HL2's released content (well, Valve's content that is), and the last game I bought was Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which I enjoyed despite the horrible voice acting and bugs. I really liked the melee combat mechanics and the way it blended FPS with RPG-style character/skill enhancements. However, I've beat it twice and I'm a little bored of going through with different spec combinations.

So now, I'm looking for a new game. I don't really have a preference for a genre. I would like it to look pretty on my 7900. If its a FPS/RPG, I'd like it to have a decent plot/storyline and voice acting. I like both turn based and RTSs too - I LOVE Civ 4, and I've enjoyed the AoE series and other similar games.

Dark Messiah got a new patch with multi-player arena mode in it, you could try that.

Stalker is coming out in around 19 days, that will be a worthwhile buy.

In terms of value you can not go wrong with Company of Heroes. Even if the World War II setting turns you off like it did me it is an absolute must buy. Excellent singleplayer backed by a wonderful, very supported online game. The community is thriving, to boot, so I'de anticipate some great mod efforts in the near future.

There are already stalker reviews out, german magazines have given it 90% in average, PCZone UK gave it 85%.

Dek, Its the most awesome game ever.

Get Wh40k Dawn of War, Gold edition, then buy dark crusade seperately.
Its just like CoH only without much cover and bulgier and scifi.

If you're pc isnt top of the line or quite new... dont bother with supcom.

Get CoH or C&C3.

If you want some good old HL2 mods, check out Empires (I'm in a clan there ), Hidden: Source, Iron Grip: The Oppression, Eternal Silence, Obsidian Conflict, Follow Freeman!, and have a look on moddb.com for more. These are all MP mods btw, for SP mods look for Minerva, Pythagoras' Mistake and Rock 24.
