Looking to update

I have
AMD Athlon 64 4200+ X2
2 gig DDR RAM
GeForce 7600 GS 512DDR

I wont go into much more detail but im thinkin of updating the processor but to notice the greatest difference in gameplay what should i update?

You're having performance issues with those specs?

I guess you could upgrade your GFX card.

I'm not really having performance issues no, but i would like to update and you are right the GFX card is quite old. there is one issue that if u could help with would be appreciated, i know this is nothing to do with upgrading to fix this problem but here it is.

While playing half life 2 and half life 1 source (havnt noticed it on ep 1 or cs source) there is a green, red or blue edge to every shadow i could post a screen shot if thats needed but im not sure how to fix this. I have tried th basics like updating drivers and rolling back drivers.

most likely its your monitor or the way the colors are set up.

can you suggest ways to fix this, im running a Viewsonic VP720b in the digital input, res 1280x1024 refresh rate - 60 hz

If your looking to increase performance go for a new graphics card. If your budged allows as much as $200 then get a 7900gtko. Good price for the performance.
