ok im getting sick of my slightly larger stomach. i want it gone. no im not fat or obese etc, but its certainly not flat. it needs to be sliced off and burned, then served with a side dish of vegetables, sprinkled with 2 pinches of sa...*shakes head* uhh i mean...

im currently on a diet anyway, so does anyone have some decent tips on loosing this bloody thing? i want slightly flat, toned etc. confidence i tell you! damn it! confidence!

Don't eat as much carbohydrates. But then you might smell or something.

Or just eat less more filling foods. Ones you like the taste of, but don't eat a lot of.

Burn more calories than you are taking in.....
Simple as.
The body cannot selectively choose where it looses fat so you have to strip a general layer off first, some people will always have a little paunch.
Count the food your are eating (there is so much info on web i don't need to say what to eat here)

I used to have a fair bit of body fat (still do tbh, but i want it so i can survive well, i don't give 2 ****s if it dosn't "look" any good)

Get plenty of sleep, work hard, eat healthily.

You can increase metabolic rate by drinking chinese green tea and taking iodine in the form of kelp tablets (available from most health stores)

The most important thing however is down to you.
I didn't ask anyone for tips to get like i am, i just had to have will power.
 
Cardio, cardio, cardio. You need to get your heart rate up and sustain it at that rate for a period of time to burn fat effectively.

yep, first off you should prob keep your heart rate elevated for about 1/2 hour, increasing it as you can.
There are a whole host of activites that are good for cardio (not including equipment at the gym)
-Swimming
-Biking
-Mountain walking/runnig
-Rowing
-Working hard (carrying bricks 2 at a time across a yard etc)
-Sex
-Fighting/boxing/martial arts

Or do what i just did and carry a 4 1/2 stone log 2 miles home whilst running. (my arms wreck)
 
I used to be "tubby" and didn't like it at all. The main problem was that my face had a fair bit of fat on it. So literally for a whole month I ate nothing especially greasy or full of bad things (apart from once a week where I treated myself) and I exercised 3 times a week. By the end of the month I had lost a lot of weight and was on the verge of looking unhealthy, but since then, I have not gained any visible weight (apart from extra muscle weight :naughty: ) and I have a heathier life style because of it.

EDIT: Short Recoil's post reminded me, boxing is a fantastic way to lose weight and let out frustration at the same time. I reccomend it thoroughly, and if you can get a friend to do it with you, all the better.

hehe couldve just said 'atkin's diet'.

been reading that exercises for the stomach (sit ups etc) dont work as well as diets. all they do is tone and dont shrink. shrinking is my main priority. been dieting for the past month or so and am failing to see any difference, maybe its just me (probably is)...

Sit ups and the like just create a layer of muscle underneath the fat, without actually removing it. The methods of cardio short recoil mentioned are really the best ways.
 
Eat raw, dry oatmeal often, like me. :dork:

Uhh, wants to be skinnier, not a dancing cow D:

I know a saw has always helped me with losing weight.....
 
I recently bought a mtn bike and started to eat alittle more healthy and I have lost almost a quarter stone in about 2 months, and I wasn't that dedicated. It just shows what a half an hour bike ride up some hills a couple of times a week and on saturday and sunday can do. I feel alot better now. Just get out and work up a sweat on your bike or something similar.

Redneck = White trailer trash that sits on their butt all day watching CMT.
Farmer = people who go out and work 12+ hours a day trying to keep everything running smoothly for a paltry sum of cash.

Fortunately I only have to work 4 hours of the twelve. :P
 
Sorry, but the thread title made me think of someone letting their stomach go free, launching it like some mis-shapen eagle into the great blue sky.

OT, sit-ups and running. Take it down quicker than a bikini model poster at a PC workplace.
 
the "secret" to weight loss has been known as long as there have been fat people. But people still pay millions of dollars to have books and doctors and nutritionists tell them it over and over again in a variety of different ways.
"Eat well and exercise"
hmmm... now go do it or be fat.
 
Well, there are a few "tried and true" methods of losing weight quickly... for example: cocaine, malaria, bulimia, etc. :p
