Lost Coast error (unable to take damage)

I can only take damage from falling and leeches. Combines and poison headcrabs are completely inefficient. I've tried reinstalling it, and it still doesn't work. Could it have something to do with my computer? I get a small message before launch saying my computer does not meet the recommended specs.

This is not an issue in other games, only in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast.

Disable commentary. While you have commentary enabled you can't take any damage from enemies.
