great movie ..saw it a long time ago so my memories a bit fuzzy ...but like any david lynch movie it's open to many different interpretations. Bill pullman cant remember if he's killed his wife ..Robert blake (the devil) is along for the ride waiting for his memory to kick in

Yeah, I heard that Fred (Pullman) made a contract or so; he kills his wife, but: in the beginning, when the cops visit them, he says "I like to remember things my way... the way I want them to be remembered" - so he forgets how he slaughtered his wife. Seems logical... there are so many things one has yet to understand though For example what Pete's parents know, what he doesn't, and why Fred and Pete changed lifes. Or so...

yeah i've got it on dvd...really GREAT film but way too much sex in it
its a film that kind of deals with change of identity and shifting of character...and i think it kind of deals with the guilt of a character aswell because the main guy is kind of stuck in an endless loop of time thus having to deal with what he did out of jealousy over and over...
like any lynch film, its very individual on its interpretation...what it means to you will probably mean nothing to the next person that watches it...like if you watch blue velvet, one person will say it deals with the dark side of the 'american dream' and another person will say its glorified porn
anyhow give it a watch...if you want something to challenge your thoughts, it'll deffinatley do that
