'Lost' Inspired Map

Hey folks,

Just started work on a new map, maybe ill finnish this one ;). Anyway, im gonna make it single player 'adventure game' esque, if possible, otherwise it'll be a dark and creepy short map for anyone to play.

Already a CS:S map huh.

Well, with all due respect, this wont be for CS:S.

Whats it called by the way? The CS one, I'd like to have a look.

this map look great dude, I wish i had you're mapping skill ;). Good luck with it, I love playing sp maps for hl2 :).
 
The walls/tunnels you mean?

Well, i started out making an 'arch' 128x128 units with a wall thickness of 4 and 16 sides.

Next 'clip' the arch in half, and half again so a quater. Then vertex out the outside points of each segment in a 'front' view to make up the upper conrner of a square. Then your left with a nice hollow cylinder with a square edge.

Copy this acordingly to the other side, there you have your half pipe. Add some verticle sides (64 units high to make 128units altogether with the arch)
 
Ah, well, same as before, start off with the arch, cut it to a quater (or set the angle to 90 degrees) use the inside edge for the wall, the outside edges pull out to square to make the level seal.

Try to make the outside-enviourment intence aswell.. Oh! And make the button-thingy ;)
 
Hey,

There will be some outside environments, probably along the lines of a jungle, ala 'lost'.

How ever, it wont sticktly be the same story line as lost, perhaps some kind of researcher stumbles across the entrance blah blah blah. Ill have to see about this, nothing is final yet :>
