lost planet question

first off, how fun is this game? anyway, my question is: in multiplayer i am level 11, it's said: your valour in battle has earned you a new player model. it said this twice actually, but i can;t find the model in the character select screen, it's just the same old three.

plus it also said once that i unlocked new patterns, which i actually could find very easily. so what's the deal here? has anyone else unlocked any new models? how? what levels are you? and why can't i find mine!!
